Default I got my new lens - sharing a lot of photos

I got my new lens last night! It arrived at dinner time, so I had to wait until today to play. I got the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. My friend returned hers because she got a soft copy. So far mine seems okay. Fingers crossed!

I uploaded 14 pictures ... but I know you don't want to see all of them here. Crap! I just realized I forgot to sharpen for web. Ugh. I gotta get to bed, can't go back and do it now. Moving on ...

    1. This is just a goofy one, and I cropped it as I had a lot of the greenery in the picture. But it's a fire hydrant in the middle of practically nowhere. I wanted to take this shot with the primary colors 365 challenge (the red, and there were yellow flowers around at the time) - but that never happened. So I got it today.

Then I had to get my cute boy. I should have moved the stroller for better light, I don't know how to edit to better see his eyes. Any ideas?

    4. This is the one I really want lighter eyes ... damn shadows!

    5. At the end of our walk (which was a very windy walk, btw) - here's one sleepy boy

    6. Just showing you the blue sky, thought it looked awesome today!

    7. Miniature rose ... it's actually pretty small (like 1/4 the size of a regular rose). I took a BUNCH of it ...

    Aperture: f/2.8
    Focal Length: 28 mm

    10. And I decided to start practicing for the newborn shoot ... but I didn't get very far. Hope to take more tomorrow. This is a newborn size doll - she's even filled with air to make her feel more squishy. Borrowed her from my neighbor's kid so I could practice. Our dolls are too small. And the light isn't the same light I'd have to shoot - I have to pick an ideal time of day for the right light still.

    Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
    Aperture: f/2.8
    Focal Length: 28 mm
    ISO Speed: 800

Ok Gwen....... I hate you!! LOL Just kidding I really want that lens. It's going to have to wait til next fall though I'm so sad about that! It's one lens a year for me. But I might just have to make it into 2 next year. Will just have to save. but yay for you! I am sure you are loving it! Can't wait to see more from this lens Your pics are great so far! And that one pic of Jack, there is not much you can do. Maybe try using the brush in ACR to lighten up his face some but that's all I can think of

Just a tip... I have the same lens and figured out that wide open at f/2.8 is not the sweet spot. Mine is around f/3.5. Just noticed your settings were all 2.8, trying shoot around 3.5 and see how you like it.

    Congrats on the glass!

Ditto. Mine does alright at 2.8, but it's hit and miss. I love the blue sky pic, that's beautiful! Enjoy your new toy.

YAY for a new lens! That's great Gwen! Love that last pic of Jack. He's too darn cute for words. Looks like he's not too fond of the camera though. Your flower pics are great!
