    Default I was inspired

So I was inspired to go out and shoot in full manual this afternoon. I did a lot of playing around with the camera. I think I'm getting the hang of it a little better now. I feel like my shots today turned out better than they ever have. Here's one that I took. He moved his hand just as I was snapping it, so it's a little blurred. I'm a little bummed about that. Please tell me what you think. All I did was crop it and brighten it up a bit.

    Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
    Aperture: f/5.6
    Focal Length: 25 mm
    ISO Speed: 100

Exposure looks really good. One thing I would suggest, though, is making sure your SS is always at LEAST 1/100 when shooting kids, otherwise, you'll get the blur like you did on the hand, and sometimes, the whole picture will be OOF, simply because your SS is not fast enough. I like to shoot even faster than 1/100 just to make absolutely sure that everything is crisp and in focus. In this case, if you couldn't open up your ap a little more (depending on what lens you were using and how many subjects you are shooting), you would have needed to bump up your ISO.
Otherwise, great job shooting in M. Cute pic!

What Lisa said! I always keep my SS at 1/125 at the lowest when I'm not using a speed light or when I'm just shooting outdoors. If I can't open up my ap then I always just increase my ISO. cute dog!

I already see an improvement! I agree about the SS. Way to get out there and try it! Your pup and DS are adorable btw!

Yeah, I couldn't get my AP any lower than that. Next time I'll try upping the ISO then to get my SS higher I normally will use SS priority at 1/125 to avoid the blur. I'm so happy I at least got this one partly right! lol

Yup, I've got nothing new to add that hasn't already been said.

Cute pic! How did you get your DS and doggie to stay put?!

    Great improvment already!

you got some great advice. I'm still learning, so I don't have anything else to offer. But what a cute little boy and his dog! Great pic!

The dog's the easy one! He's very well trained. The boy...I have no idea how I got him to stay put I will say that I was only able to get a few shots of them together hahaha! Carson never wants to stay in one place for very long!

Oh, and I figured out how to get him to look at the camera. Not sure how long this will work for me, but I will point to the lens and ask him if he can see Carson in there. He looks so closely for himself then
