Can I be the first to say, that...my jaw DROPPED when I saw your new pics!!!!!! Holy cow these are amazing. I am so jealous of your European Robin photo, and the rest are simply too gorgeous for words!!!!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous! I really can't decide which shot I like best.
It's funny because I'm an avid birdwatcher and I got a little frustrated with myself because I couldn't ID the bird in your picture--I just didn't remember ever seeing that species in the US. Finally, I looked at your information and saw that you are in the UK! I've only birded in the UK once (in London, at a marsh south of Heathrow).
Thanks! Janet, lol at not being to identify the Robin. I guess I throw many off by being in the UK, our robins look different.
Steph, the Wall-E shot is a mix of a shot of him in the umbrella, a sky shot, a plug-in for photoshop for the water effect and a rain texture. I used the magnetic lasso to get Wall-E off the the original shot & pasted him onto the stormy cloud background. Used the transform tool until I thought the size was about right (eyeballing, lol!). Someone pointed me in the direction of a PS plug-in called flood by flaming pear (30 day trial). I used that to get the water and then overlayed a rain texture.
I am done a couple of other Wall-E shots, I am thinking of making them into a little series that I may use in the boys playroom if we ever move!
Thanks for the lovely comments. I was mad enough to start a 365 project. Sometimes I wish I hadn't started as it is so time consuming BUT I am learning so much, trying out all sorts of new things (textures, composites and new kinds of processing) and finding a love for photography that isn't portraits all the time. I still haven't found my "style", not sure I ever will but am having lots of fun. I am pretty sure I am seeing an improvement in my stuff as well.... we'll see, my 2nd anniversary is coming up, lol!
