I've been using Elements 7 for at least 6 months now. I have the Kelby book, and I'm pretty comfortable with it. But I've been feeling limited when I read tutorials and when I try to use actions in PSE (some work, some do not). So I'm making the leap to CS4. My brother works at a university so at least I can get it from him at a student rate (or something like that). I have to use my allowance money to buy it, but I think in the end it will be worth it.
If you've made the leap from PSE to CS4, tell me about it.
I did not make that leap...but once you get used to it, you are going to LOVE CS4!

CS4 is great. Just have a lot of stuff to digest.

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
I haven't made the leap either, but like a PP poster said, once you get used to it, you will LOVE it. I am still learning new things every week thanks to the 6 month photoshop course that's running right now.
loving cs4 so far, still have a lot to learn
(just don't forget with the university copy you aren't supposed to be me making money from anything you use with it.....well I'm pretty sure thats the gist but I know there are restrictions b/c bil had to buy full copy even though I also get education discount)

I've never used PSE, so I can't comment there. I did recently jump from PS7 to CS4 though. BIG jump. Well worth the learning curve though. WELL worth it!
I went ahead and shelled out all the $$ for the non-educational version of it even though I work for a university. I hope to some day get people to pay me for my posters and collages, so I didn't want to take any risk of licensing issues. It was a hard bullet to bite, but I'm glad I did in the end.
Good luck, you're going to love it Gwen, can't wait to see your stuff from it! And I would check out the university thing. I bought mine with a teacher's discount and I don't have any restrictions on mine. Not that I have any plans for business soon, lol.
