I'm so very sad ...

My 50D is on its way to the Canon Service Center. Sad I was taking pictures this morning, and all of a sudden I got an Error 20. Said to turn off the camera and take out the battery and put it back in (not in those words but you get the gist). I could take one picture at a time, as long as I turned it off and on in between (as I got the message each time). It wasn't making a great sound, and I read that the error 20 is a mechanical error. I tried switching batteries, and then lenses, but the problem continued. So I didn't waste time, I sent it off to Canon. It's under warranty. Just sucks because Natalie's first day of school is Monday (my friend said I can use her camera for it). And I'm still doing Project 365 (so the P&S will come out of semi-retirement).

Anyhow, I hope it comes back quickly and that it's a simple fix. Just very sad about it. Sad And I feel naked without it already.

Yikes! I hope they can fix it quickly and without problems. Does the manual describe the reason behind the specific error?

I tell you, it's a sucky day for sure!

So after I got home from the post office, I took Jack's temp - 103.6. He's MISERABLE. He won't nap, he keeps waking and crying. And I got the mail to find out that I screwed up my LLC paperwork ... I left off the "LLC" after g Custom Photograph. I have no idea how I managed to do that one. Ay yi yi.

What a day.

(((HUGS))) I think it's just one of those days. I can understand it. Sounds like an EI maybe? Hope not. Ruthie did that the other day, but he was fine within 6-8 hours. Hope Jack is feeling better soon. I'll send up a prayer.

WHAT A DAY, INDEED!!! I think you need an early night in the hopes that tomorrow will be a better day.

Hope Jack is better soon and that your camera also has a speedy recovery (& return).

DH is glad for the break for me ... (not the camera breaking, but a break in my photography). Then my friend offered to lend me her backup camera. he wasn't happy about that. ROFL don't know when I'll get it though, as she's a bit of a drive away.

meanwhile, Jack's temp got to 104.2 in the middle of the night. it's 12:15 and he hasn't eaten a thing yet today. ped tested him for strep, negative. she thinks the fevers are viral ... but sent him for x-rays for the constipation. we were at the imaging place for over an hour, it was torture with Natalie because she was so bored. Jack HATED the x-rays. anyhow, gave him a suppository after we got home (about 10 min ago) and if he doesn't poop by 4, then we have to give him an enema.

I feel like this week has had more downs than ups. Sad And the sky is beautiful today, I'm wishing I had my camera in a big way.

I borrowed my friend's Nikon D90 today to take photos of Natalie's first day of school. I can't figure out how to toggle the focus points ... but I have to say that most of the photos turned out really sharp with this camera. I'm wondering about how I was toggling the points on my Canon.

Speaking of my Canon, I keep checking the repair site and it's saying that my repair number isn't in their database. I guess I have to give them a call. So frustrating!

Sorry about all the "downs" this past week Gwen. Sad I hope Jack feels better soon. How awful that he's going through all that.

Sorry Gwen. I hope Jack is feeling better soon! Any updates?

As for the D90, that's what I have. I can't remember how to toogle them, but I know I looked it up on the net. Once I figured it out, I never went back to the other way! Wink

Canon finally updated my status - they have my camera and have accepted the repairs. I should have it back in a week. Whew!
