    Default Introducing myself!

    Hi everyone!
I've finally decided to come out of lurk-dome! I figure you ladies probably don't bite...hopefully!

Anyway, here goes! I am ripping off the band-aid! My name is Erin. I have just recently become interested on photography mainly because I want to take better pictures of my little man. I finally switched the dial to manual a few months ago. I feel like I'm learning new things every day, but it seems the more I learn the more I'm reminded of how little I know! Haha!

Currently I have a Nikon D5000 and I'm trying to learn my way around PSE 8...key word is TRYING!

Anyway, here's a shot of my little guy I took last month.

Welcome Erin! Love the photo of your little guy, he is adorable. Do you use any programs for post processing? I look forward to getting to kow you!

I've been using PSE 8 but I'm not too sure of myself...and now that I look at the pic on my laptop the coloring looks completely different. Hmmmmmmm.....

Hi! Great photo! I love the backlighting & bokeh too, and his eyes look good. His skin looks blue but that could easily be adjusted

WTG on flipping the switch to manual! I was afraid I'd get too comfy in auto, so the day I took my camera out of the box, I put it to manual. It was the best thing for me! Now, I only switch to auto when I'm just taking snaps - like on Christmas morning.

    Thanks ladies!
What's the best way to fix the white balance? Photoshop is going to kill me.

Welcome!!! What a handsome little boy you have! I wish I could help on the white balance, but I'm not very good at that. I'm curious to see what others have to say. I usually just fix it later if I took the photo in RAW.
