Hi, I'm Gemma. I've lurked on this board here and there because I love seeing the photos you ladies take.
I was always a 35mm SLR user (amateur / enthusiast) but haven't used my camera much since having kids (~4yrs). I still to my point and shoot as I like to see the pics straight away.
I've finally decided to buy a dSLR and get back in to photography but I have no idea what I want. I always used a Minolta 35mm so don't haev any brand allegiance in the dSLRs, although my P&S is a Canon and I love it.
I can't decide whether to buy a more basic dSLR and try and save for a better body down the line if I get back in to photography properly, or to buy a slightly better(say middle of the line) now.
I know it is the photography that makes the pic, not the camera. I was wondering, however, if you ladies would mind sharing what camera(s) you have and what you love about them, what you would change and what you wish they had. And if you were to buy a (non-professional) camera now, what would you look at.
It would mostly be used for portraits though I LOVE macro photography (studied forensics and we did a lot of macro during that).
