The itsy bitsy spider (don't open if you have arachnophobia)

I took this 10 days ago ... it was so hard to use autofocus on this guy, my camera wanted to focus on everything behind him (I think this one worked because it was just water in the background, I have others where there are trees behind him). Anyhow, happy about the focus on this. He's smaller than a dime for sure. And he was moving pretty fast, I really got lucky with this one.

Camera Canon EOS 50D
Exposure 0.002 sec (1/640)
Aperture f/3.5
Focal Length 66 mm
ISO Speed 100

Great shot Gwen! If it would have been a snake, I wouldn't have opened, but spiders I am okay with! Lol

Cool spider, I was trying to figure out if that's the underside of it--I think it is.....the DOF is so tricky on critters this small...I like how you can see the silk coming out of its spinner (aka butt! LOL) here.

yes, it's the underside. couldn't get him from the top, as he's on a fence surrounding water and I couldn't be on the other side. Lol

is that what that hole is? lol i noticed a small hole on my spider shot a few weeks ago. that's where the silk comes from to make their webs? Smile cool!

cool shot Gwen! Spiders are really hard to focus on lol They are so small. But they sit still and are patient with us. Lol

Not always patient lol...the other day I was trying to gently sneak up on this cool jumping spider in the garden, but he kept speedily moving under the leaves/branches away from me, hiding and peeking Sad I kept saying "geeze, relax!" LOL
