First, the light wasn't great today. I'm shooting inside (until this kid starts walking on his own) and it was an overcast day. So I had the ISO higher than I wanted.Anyhow, I think I got some keepers here. One is for the family room wall ... and DH likes centered photos so I humor him there.
1. This is my PP'd version ... I sharpened for web but now I think it looks oversharp. I had another version, but my sister said it looked too overprocessed, so this is a milder version.
Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/2.2
Focal Length: 30 mm
ISO Speed: 800
For comparison, SOOC (after ACR)
And after a levels adjustment for addition color correction
2. Another one that might be over processed ...
Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/2.2
Focal Length: 30 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Those two are the ones I really want the CC on. Here are a few others for kicks
3. As much as I tried to straighten this, it still seems crooked. I didn't have much space to work with though
4. I really wanted a standing shot, but had to give him Teddy Grahams to just get these two
5.
6. I'm bummed at how soft this one is ... but it's not one I would have framed anyway.
7. And I decided to snap a shot of myself in the mirror ... I softened my skin a little (because I wanted to hide some zits) and the comments I'm getting on Facebook are cracking me up.My sister said I overdid it, but I don't care, I like it.

These look good, but his eye white are really blue in a few of them.
I agree with Andrea. Also, is he facing the window? I would reposition your set up so that he is, so you can get more catchlights.
He is very cute Gwen and getting so big already. I also like your self portrait. Very nice.

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
I also see the blue in the whites of the eyes, so apart from fixing that up, I think your edits look good. As for the tilt, I am useless and tend to see tilts even after I fixed it. It still looks to be tilting to the right.
I like your self portrait!
really cute!He is so chubby! Can't get over how cute he is!
Is your window on the left side? There seems to be a lot of light coming from that side causing it to be a bit darker on the other side (of his face). Have you tried putting a reflector or something on that side (the right)? maybe it would helpAlso what PP did you do to his skin? It just looks a bit soft to me when your SOOACR shot looks good. Just needs some color correction.
#2 same as #1. Get a reflector in there to help with the lighting. Make it more even.
I agree with Andie too. I see some blue in the whites of his eyes. I think you did great. Love your set up
wish i could have one like that!
okay, will fix the set up for next time. it was very hard keeping him still, I kept trying to move him so I could get more catchlights. ay yi yi
how do I fix just his eyes?
I did some skin softening, as I liked how it looked. but after I posted this, I did more edits of the first two - I ran them through noiseware and then did almost the same PP that you see above. I think I lessened the skin softening. will have to post those for kicks. but I don't know how to fix the blue whites of his eyes without changing anything else.
do a figure 8 around his eyesget rid of the blueish color. then brighten his eyes. Do you know what I'm talking about? she talks about the figure 8 on here. http://ilovephotography.com/forums/i...owtopic=256272
I was just looking at his eyes, and they are blue in the whites in person. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I took 180 photos yesterday afternoon for Andrew's 8 year shoot (and I'm not thrilled with any of them really - but I haven't given then a second look yet). I'm gonna be all PP'd out by the end of the day!(and I wonder why I don't have time to scrapbook anymore)
you don't PP all of the 180 pictures do you?
I usually pick my faves, or the good ones, out of the entire set and edit those. I am taking an editing break though. (why you haven't seen the rest of my walk through the forest ones) because I got PP'd out!love the way you put that! haha Actually I am just trying to learn different ways of PPing atm. That way once I know what to do I don't have to go through ALL of my pictures and re-edit. That would suck
