Default JMK ... CC on a couple please

Okay, I will try not to overload this thread with too many pictures. And I don't really need CC on all of them, I'll put my questions about some of the images with them so you know which ones I would prefer CC on. Thanks!

First, it took me a week, but I finally finished my cocoon! This Cabbage Patch Kid is too small ... I need to raid my girls' dolls to see if I have one more lifesize. But I'm psyched, this came out really cool!

I took three of my kids and the camera out for a little walk today ... sharing some of those photos with you.

    1. I'm such a fan of shooting sunbursts now ... really happy with this one (it's SOOC!)

    Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/640)
    Aperture: f/16.0
    Focal Length: 30 mm
    ISO Speed: 100

    2. Okay, definitely want CC on this one. She's backlit ... and I struggled with the editing.

    Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
    Aperture: f/2.5
    Focal Length: 30 mm
    ISO Speed: 100

Almost SOOC ... edited in ACR but I'm thinking my WB is off, she just seems too warm

So I played with levels in PSE

She seemed too cool though so I reduced the opacity to come up with this version - does it make sense to do it this way?

    3. A sweet moment, Jordan loves her brother.

    4. My twirling girl

And I had fun playing with post processing on this ... did a chocolate conversion but then reduced the opacity to let some color back in.

    5. Which crop is better? The girls looking out of the photo or into it?

    Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
    Aperture: f/2.2
    Focal Length: 30 mm
    ISO Speed: 200

    6. Lastly, my cutie patootie. But is he too warm here?

Thanks for looking! Ack, it's almost midnight. MUST. GET. AWAY. FROM. THE. COMPUTER. NOW.

That's a nice cacoon! I wish I had the talent to make one like that Nice sunburst too. #2 I feel like your first edit is just fine but it just needs to be brightened a bit. It looks a bit underexposed to me. Maybe that's why her skin color looks off. #3 is cute! doesn't look like he is liking it too much though lol #4 her hair and her right hand look a bit blurry but i like your processing on that. #5 I like the first crop better. And the last one... I think it has a smidge too much yellow but it looks good to me love his silly face!

p.s. i'm so jealous that you get to wear short sleeves and shorts in the fall we get to wear warm clothes by now! fall leaves everywhere but its always wet since it rains a lot in the fall

    - YAY for the cacoon! It looks great! Can't wait to see a real baby in it!
#1-The sunburst looks awesome. I can't seem to get a good one, but you make me want to keep trying!
#2- honestly, I like the first edit the best. The second one seems to cool and the third one, the color looks off to me, but that's just me.
#3- aww, sweet moment! Wish Jack was looking at the camera, but I know how that goes!
#4- I would like a tighter crop on this one. Another sweet moment. Ruthie always twirls too. Drives me nuts. I like the original edit better.
#5- I like the second one better. Can't explain why, but I do.
#6- Look at how cute he is! Love that face! Great eyes here!

2nd crop is better G! The lines draw you in.

The cacoon looks great. You've been having fun with your time off, huh?

As for the pic of Jordan, I like the first(most warm) edit the best personally.

    I love sunbursts too!
I think you could use more contrast overall, they look a bit hazy to me.

    I like the first crop.

    Ditto everything said above,
The warm versions are best and the crop looking is my fave.
Love the cocoon, how did you do the hood part??

Another vote for the the first edit of #2! And for #5, I like the cropped version. For #4, I am not a fan of the second edit, like the first one better. #6 is soo cute and doesn't look to warm to me! Loving your sunbursts and the cocoon is so fun!

Thanks girls! Had a super busy day and didn't pick up my camera or open PSE. Want to do some edits after reading your CC. That will have to wait.

Good news! Finally made it to Home Depot today and as of 15 minutes ago, my backdrop stand is built. But it's too wide so I need to trim a foot off the PVC tomorrow.

Yay for a done back drop stand! I thought about doing one from PVC, but my DH can't do stuff like that.. and I'd probably just mess it up and end up wasting money. I love these shots of your kids, they are so cute. No time for CC right now, though, off to the library! I'll be back!

actually, my DH helped me cut a piece of PVC last night, but other than that, it was all me that put it together. and I cut several pieces of PVC myself, DH just wanted to show me a cool tool he has for cutting (I found the hacksaw much better). I got everything for about $20. it was pretty simple. I'll probably scan my sketch and list my supplies when I do my thread showing it off.
