JMK- CC please (6 photos)

My kids have been super sick lately, so I've been home a lot. Sad I am ready for them to feel better. Yesterday, we were home with Ruthie sick, and I have been dying to try to "create" a studio set-up. This was the best I could do. It's not the best, but Randy worked with me, so I had fun, which is what it's all about. The others are just random ones. I want to know if my b&ws are getting any better. I played for a long time yesterday hoping, they look better than before.

1) 1/125
f/4.5
ISO-500

2) 1/100
f/4.5
ISO-500

3) 1/25
f/4.8
ISO-500

4) The main reason I like this one is b/c of his teeth!
1/125
f/4.5
ISO-500

5) 1/500
f/6.3
ISO- 200

6) Only one of Ruthie...
1/40
f/5.0
ISO- 500

SADIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these are great! definitely run the "studio" shots through noiseware though, they seem grainy here. I'd up the contrast a little on your b&w ones, but that's a personal preference. the two color ones look over sharpened to me - did you sharpen for web? and #5 is too cute - but he's a tad underexposed, brighten him up some and you have a winner. and the last one of Ruthie is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well, I'm seeing some magenta in her skin, but everything else about it is perfect to me)

I did sharpen for the web, and I do see that they are oversharpened! UGH! I can't seem to get my shapening right. I have a question on that, but I'll make it another post! Wink
As for the b&w, when I up the contrast, they look bad. Guess I need to work with it even more. I keep forgetting to run the noise remover....gotta do that too! Ruthie does have a lot of magenta, and crap...it didn't look like that at home! Geez, I thought I was doing better, but I guess not! Wink

Thanks Gwen! I appreciate your CC!!! Biggrin

Was #1 underexposed? There is a lot of grain for the ISO that is listed.

Not loving the BW conversions. They seem too bright to me...especially the background.

#5 looks too cool ? and your subject is underexposed...especially compared to the background.

#6 is the best of the bunch. Lovely shot.

Hello! #1 is my favorite, although I agree with others it does look grainy to me. Were you using all natural light? I'm not digging the conversions. They look a tad too bright to me, especially in his face. I don't have suggestions on how to change that though...I don't do conversions yet!! Smile #4 doesn't look as grainy to me on my screen as the first one. #5 I feel needs to be brightened up, he looks a little dark. The last one is adorable. Both of your kids are adorable!

Great job on these. Loving the catchlights. I think you've gotten great cCs already. Keep at it.
