I have to share these guys ... CC if you like, but mostly this is just a mommy moment. I adore my kiddo, I think you all know that.
Right now, our whole family is working on a take-home research project for school. Logan had to pick a famous figure from the Renaissance and research. And in a few weeks, he will have to deliver a monologue in front of his school (& all of the visiting parents that come to these things) as his chosen historical figure.
It didn't take Logan 10 seconds to claim Leonardo da Vinci as his historical figure. Logan has had a fascination with him for over a year after watching a program on the Discovery channel about some of his never-before-built inventions. We found a book that had some of Leonardo's experiments last summer and did them just for fun.
SO ... anyway ... that's a lot of background to tell you that my boy dig's Leonardo da Vinci. Now to this project. We've spent a couple of weeks reading up on the man and learning all we could. We tried a few more of Leonardo's inventions (some of which I posted pictures about on the Friday flash back thread a few weeks ago). And over the long holiday weekend we sat down and wrote his monologue.
Last night we ironed out a costume and have started working on memorizing and delivering the speech. I can hardly wait to video tape it!Let me tell you ... you haven't lived until you've heard my East Texas sweet heart try to do an Italian accent!
ANYWAY ... I'm rambling again ... this morning though, we decided we needed some in-costume pictures to help with inspiration.
I had fun playing around with them and wanted to share them here.
TFL!
