Talking JMK - Two year portraits

Finally got my boy out for some two year portraits. I know they are not perfect, but you can bet I am ecstatic! eye contact + fall colors = very happy mommy! but saying he made me work for these would be an understatement! I can hardly walk today! It was worth it though! Next time I hope to have daddy as a helper, but it was sunny for once, and the sun goes down before daddy gets home from work. Beggers can't be choosers! CC is welcome of course.

I am on uncalibrated monitor here at work. But these looks wonderful. Skin tone is a bit inconsistent, some looks a tad red and others look a tad yellow (#1 - a big red compare to #2). But I think these are great!

El, I was going crazy with skin tones as usual! Can you fix them for me j/k

Do any of them stand out as needing to be fixed up for sure?

The sun was going down, so light was changing, making my custom white balance not so accurate...

I'll check again when I get home. I think the color might be a bit too drastic on this uncalibrated computer.

These are GREAT!!!! #4 adn 10 are my faves, those eyes just get me! I'm aweful with color, but I think without the pics sitting next to eachother, I wouldn't notice the skin tone.

    GREAT job! LOVE these!

Now that I look at it on calibrated monitor - it's not noticeable. Looks GREAT!

I think the skin is a bit different in some. Like #1 looks cool compared to #2. But, looking at your other edits, maybe #2 is too warm?

I am not going to give CC b/c honestly, I simple adore all of these! Seriously! I can only dream of having that great of bokeh, plus smiles and EYE CONTACT! WTG! My favs are #3 & 10! Well done! I would be thrilled too!

I'm sorry to tell you this, but my son is four-and-a-half, and getting eye contact is STILL nearly impossible!

This set is great--you've got some really nice images! My favorites are #5, #7, and #9. I also like how his eyes stand out in the conversion in #4. I love the depth of field in #5 and #8--it's so crisp in the foreground and smooths out nicely in the background.

For me, the scarf works fine in the color prints. In the #3 conversion, however, it seems a little busy next to the printed shirt. #2 and #10 are a little soft, but not distractingly so.

Not to burst any bubbles, but at 9 years old ... my DS is *still* hard to get eye contact with!

That aside ... WOW! These are SO WONDERFUL!!!! It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think #4 takes it for me. The closeup of the eyes is truly wonderful!!! I'm talking canvas-worthy! I love the leaf throwing in #6/7. But in this case, I think color works better (I'm usually a bigger fan of b&w). You got such wonerful fall tones that I just can't get enough of them here.

The only one that stands out to me as not being on par with the rest of the set is #10. His eyes look a touch soft and focus looks like it fell on his mouth. Since you have so many other wonderful shots where focus is perfect, this one just doesn't measure up for me. Color sure looks awesome though.

    TFS, Lauren!

    Best,
    GiGi
