Las Vegas pictures: VERY PIC HEAVY!

Back from our trip to Las Vegas! While it was a fascinating place and I'm glad I went, I've never been so glad to LEAVE a vacation, either. Vegas is pretty depressing in a lot of ways... it doesn't really showcase the best of humanity. :( But the hotels and the lights and nearby scenery were wonderful.

I'm still working on one HDR stitched photo, but the rest of the photos are processed and here are some I like and thought I'd share.

My favourite part of the trip was actually at the Red Rock Canyon, not in Vegas. Here are some shots of that...

These are all fantastic Tracy. I had a feeling Vegas was like that, but IDK. I don't really have a desire to go there, especially now. I love your lights and the canyons! Great shots!

Welcome back, Tracy! Yeah, Vegas isn't exactly Christian... I went there as a kid to visit some family who lived in a nearby town (Herman? Started with an H...). We walked down the strip and went to Circus Circus and spied in on a couple of casinos. But we more did Hoover Dam, and also went to the mountains, though I can't remember which ones. Might have been Red Rock Canyon, but it was so long ago that I don't remember.

Your photos are lovely, as usual! Love the Superman and Elvis one! lol!

Stephanie - do you mean Henderson? My sister leaves out there too. Vegas is a nice place, if you like to gamble. You could have driven to the Hoover dam - it's near there.

Yes! Henderson! That's it :) My aunt and uncle lived there for years. They're back home in IL now, though.

To be honest, we probably wouldn't have chosen Vegas as a vacation destination, but we won the trip, so it was within our budget. :D Also, DH was there in 2000, during Vegas's attempts to be more family friendly, and he liked it better then. This time some of the stuff was more in-your-face (sometimes literally! like our waitress's breasts in one restaurant, literally falling out of her very skimpy outfit!!!) than he remembered, and we both got kind of tired of it.

LOVE LOVE your photos!!! Totally awesome shots. I agree, I have never had a desire to go there (the city itself).

Great pics!! I LOVE the ones of the canyon. That looks like a gorgeous place and the Fremont street canopy looks great too! I totally agree about being ready to leave Vegas. I think 2-3 days is more than plenty of sin city! :)
