    Default Lens Advice?

I LOVE my 50mm 1.8. Have definately learned a lot since I got it. But, I've also found I want something that has reach power when I get outside.

One lens that I've found in my price range and has good reviews is the Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM. I understand that because of the crop factor of my DSLR that the range will be more of a 49-168mm range. I'm OK with that.

My question...has anyone ever used this lens? I've found I can probably get one for 100-150 dollars used on ebay. I just don't have the cash right now to spend more. Would I be better off getting the Canon 75-300mm lens? I just haven't heard anything WONDERFUL about it.

Any advice would be greatly appriciated!

PS - Only lenses I have right now are the kit lens (not IS) and 50mm 1.8

I've only had 2 lenses, both were tamron... Love tamron. The next lens I plan on getting, hopefully soon, is the canon 100mm 2.8 macro

I think I've decided to just suck it up and get the Tamron 28-75 2.8. It's more, but I think I will be much more pleased with that lens then another.

    Thanks girls

you will like it ... it's my most recent lens purchase, and it's on my camera 85% of the time now.

Wow, this lens is HEAVY!! Not used to the weight. Definately something I'm going to have to get used to. But I loved just the few snaps I took tonight. It has great sharpness!! I think I'm going to have a good time with this one
