We took A&A to Bellingrath Gardens on Sunday morning. I wanted to share a few pictures that I took there. I don't think I've ever shared pictures that weren't of my kids on here before. It's not often that I have the opportunity to take landscape shots, so any CC on them would be much appreciated. I was using my 35mm/f1.8 Nikkor lens. Not the best lens for the landscape I'm sure, but it's what I had with me. Thinking back on it, I should have really dropped my A to get more in focus...And of course CC is always welcome on the ones of my kids too. Yes, I had to put a few in.

f-1.8 1/2500 100-- I forgot to change the A after taking some pictures of the roses. So I know that would have helped with this one. But I just loved this door. I tried to get Aiden to stand and look at me in front of it, but he wouldn't. He was too excited to stand still. I WILL be going back to try and get some of them here though.

And here's how I cropped it. Since I had already accidentally chopped of her arms, I wanted to try and crop in more to make it look deliberate. Not sure I really like it though. Thoughts?
f-1.8 1/500 100 And one of my little man's smiling face. It just makes me melt.

Not leaving any CC, just wanted to say your flowers/landscape pictures are beautiful and the kids are adorable as usual.

I really like #4 and #6. With your daughter, I prefer the original to the crop.
#5 and #6 are beautiful! And I too prefer the original to the crop of your daughter -- only because of the crayons. If not for the crayons, I'd love the close-up of the eyes with the wonderful catchlights. But with the crayons, I feel like you need to see what they are, rather than just the tips, or else your mind is distracted by them, IMO.

OMG Danielle! We don't live very far from Bellingrath Gardens!!! We love to go there before Christmas to look at the lightsI'm digging your second flower pic because I love that you got the veining in the petals. I also love #5.
I think I also prefer the original to the crop, but boy does the crop bring out your DD's eyes!

Thanks.
That's it! That's why I don't like the crop. Thanks, for helping me figure it out.
That's cool! We live in Mobile so it's only about a 20 min drive for us. We just bought the season pass, so that we can go as many times as we want. I'm excited to have such a beautiful place to take their pictures. And there's always something new new bloom. Do you know that they have something for Halloween too? I believe it's the Friday before Halloween, you can dress your kids up and walk through the grounds to different trick or treat spots. I'm thinking about dressing them up and taking them this year.
What the heck?! We're in Mobile tooHahaha, small world! It has never occurred to us to get season passes--we should totally do that. I remember hearing about the Halloween thing, but we've never made it over there during the season. We went to Magnolia corn maze out in Summerdale and the pumpkin patch at that church on Grelot Road across from the Winn Dixie last year. Those were fun if you've never done them before.
Sorry for derailing your thread. I just never thought I'd meet someone from around here on the boards

Great shots! That door is awesome! Can't wait to see some more shots with it![]()
That's quite alright. I feel the same way.I haven't been to either of those. Though I have driven by the pumpkins at the church every year for the past....17 yrs? lol I hear that there is a real pumpkin patch (where they are growing, not having been brought in) somewhere across the bay. I am going to do my best to locate it and take a trip there this year. I think it will be fun.
Thanks Stephanie! I plan on going back closer to November once it's cooled off some here. Our highs are still in the 80s right now. I want to try and see if I can find them some old fashioned clothes to wear to tie into it all.
Please let me know where that real pumpkin patch is! I'd love to go to it too.
