Lots for CC - 2 Girls in Cowgirl Boots!

These are jmk!

We visited Cumberland Gap last weekend and I was happy I had packed the girls' pink boots...please cc on EVERYTHING - color/comp/pp...is the sun too harsh?

I tried to pp these consistently, but I see two that look very different. I think I missed focus on many of these...I wasn't paying as close attention as I should have been.

These were taken about 8:30 am...we were up on a mountain and it was a little hazy and VERY humid.

And if anyone can tell me how to get a 2 and a 3 year old to look at me at.the.same.time with a pleasant look on their face, I would be most appreciative.

ISO 200/f 11.0 on most (#1 - f 3.5 and #7)
SS between 200-350 on all of these...

Can pull exact settings if necessary

As I preview this last one I'm tempted to delete it because the color looks wayyyyyy off (the swing is black, not green as pictured)...I know there are MANY things wrong with the pic, but does the blown background just make it gross anyway? Is the comp okay or is it too centered/would you like to see more of the porch?

Thanks for looking!

Are these too big? Should I resize to the smaller size?

Eta: Also, does the lack of eye contact ruin all of these? I don't think I got ANY keepers of them actually looking at the camera!

eta (again!) - Okay, changed it to a smaller size because nobody wants to see these any larger than this right here!!! I just looked at the desktop and, whoa!!

I don't think the lack of eye contact ruins them. I am one thinks that if you captured them being them, then it's ok.
1. I wish you could have caught them more in the shade. The half shade/half sun kinda bothers me. Love this location though! My fav.
2. This one doesn't do much for me. I think it's b/c they are just looking at the ground.
3. "look at my boots!" too cute.
4. I like this one. maybe a closer crop though.
5. wish i could see her face here...
6. this one doesn't do much for me b/c it looks like a snap and her eyes were closed.
7. cute! I don't mind the blown background. I would just fix the coloring.

My cc for your pp- you need some more umph. The colors could really pop out there.

I hope you don't mind a little play Smile

The first picture had so much potential that I had to give it a little go. I played with levels to up the blacks and add contrast. I brightened the girls and masked the grass back to help bring down the brightness. I added a bit of warmth to them as well.

I think the color may be a little wonky due to the small size and my calibration icon is RED! Time to fix that Smile This is private and I'll take it down asap. I just wanted to give you props on the first pic! It is so cute!

That first pic is really awesome, and Judith's play is so great! It definitely helps the photo to crop it that way, in addition to the colour corrections. More in keeping with the rule of thirds and much more visually appealing. I love the moment you captured there!

I love the swing shot, and the blown background doesn't bother me one bit. It's very sweet.

Thanks, Judith, for the play!

And Tracy, I didn't even realize how centered all of these are!!!

So I don't really know how to do masking - I know I can use the select tool and only make the girls brighter...haven't had much time for tutorials lately, but guess I'll start figuring that stuff out!

I'll send the sooc of the swing shot if anyone wants to play...lemme know! Smile
