Thread: Model Release?

Does anyone have any basic contracts that they would be willing to share? I have the newborn practice shoot this week and I really need to get some kind of contract in order, but I'm a little lost on where to find one. Thanks!

what is a model release form for? I mean, I have looked it up but all I am getting and understanding is that it's only used in case you want to sell or publish your photo? But printing them out, and posting on a photography forum doesn't count does it?

I don't have one yet, but I have signed them when I used to model as a teenager. I'm pretty sure its just to be clear on the terms. For insance, If I want to post the photos of a stranger on a photography board, and they agree, I could have them sign a contract that says they are ok with that. Or in this case, that they will not edit print any of the photographs I've taken. It's really something I need to learn more about.

yeah me too! right now i'm just doing it by word of mouth... have two shoots this month..haha yay me. But mostly people I know for now. it's all so confusing!

I'm using a model release as a portfolio building tool. If they sign the release allowing me to use them in my gallery, they get the PBing discount. I typed mine specifically with a PBing feel to it, but if you'd like it, you can have it!

I'd love to take a look at it, if you don't mind. I think I'm going to find as many as I can and write my own customized one.

I want to write my own too but I am so bad with words and writing...
