My First One Month Old!

I had the pleasure of taking pics of a friend's one month old little boy and he was the cutest thing ever. He was a little fussy at times but overall a good baby. I'm wondering if the pp looks okay on this one so I know how to efit the rest. I am concerned on skin tone, and need to read Amber's tutorial on that one... But, I did use the spot healing tool to fix some of his baby acne and blemishes. How'd I do?

Settings: ISO 400, f 2.5, ss 1/125, 50 mm lens

I'm new at this so I'm just gonna leave the cc to the pros.. but just wanted to say that I think it's a very sweet photo and I think you did a good job! I love the color in the hat! I know that it's hard to fix the baby acne.. I need to learn how to do the spot healing tool, any tips??

I'm a newbie not worthy of giving any cc... Did you use your new flash? I love the lighting, so bright and crisp.

Jenny, that is a very sweet photo! I can't tell where you did the healing, so that's a good thing. Smile Newborns are usually pretty pink, he seems paler than he should to me. However, take that with a grain of salt since Jack is the last newborn I shot and he's a year old. ha ha ha I'll let Amber comment on the skin tone ...

It was so easy! I just made sure that I wasn't working with too big an area, but you just click on the baby blemish and it's gone- it's so cool.

I did use my new flash bounced of the ceiling for most shots, although there was a good amount of natural light from behind the camera- lots of windows.

I did decrease the reds a tiny bit, and that spot healing tool helped with that too. I may have used a low opacity brush, but can't remember which one- shows my editing skills well, lol. I was trying to get the skin on his face to match the skin on his body. Hmmm... Maybe he is too pale?

What a cutie Jenny! I think that the angle would have benefited from being more strait on, but that's about all the cc's I have as nb/BABY baby skin isjust not my friend right now. I can se some red on the one side of his face, but I don't think he's too pale at all. Nice use of your speedlight!

I was thinking the same thing. I can't comment on color from an uncalibrated screen, but we're looking a bit up his nose at this angle.

I think you did a wonderful job with focus and exposure. I love the hat! And that is quite a difficult age to work with. Nice job!

VERY CUTE SHOT! I love that little hat. Smile

He looks just a little bit cool to me, but I'm uncalibrated here at work. Can't wait to see more from this set.
