My first real attempt at maternity!

This time I actually had the camera in my hand! I did do the same set up as my self maternity, right down to the same curtain scraps. We would have like to go outside, but it was raining, and I had a newborn and a toddler to take care of  Either way I was quite happy with the shot we got out of it. Any CC is always appreciated

I did a couple close ups and it was actually really difficult to focus in this type of lighting.
This one is my favorite, but it's a tad soft.

Wow, I really love that first one! It has such an ethereal feel to it. Great job! If that was my maternity portrait, I would have a huge print of it Smile
Of the two close-ups, I prefer the first one too. The second one just doesn't do much for me.

The first one is great! And I honestly like the soft look in the close ups...I think it fits perfectly Smile

I love the first one! I agree with a PP about the ethereal effect. Love!

I like the first close-up as well. She has such an impish expression in it. Biggrin

Great job, Lauren!!

Beautiful!!!! I also like the softness of them. Works really well with that type of lighting. This almost makes me want to be pregnant again so I can get these kinds of photos!

I love them!!! Just as I did your own portrait like this. I would love to see a pull back/behind the scenes shot too! Biggrin

Gorgeous!

Are you backlighting behind some sheer curtains? I love the effect! She should be very happy with those.

Lauren, these are just plain LOVELY!!!

I love teh soft glow all around mom in #1. I love the high key look you achieved here. And I'll bet mom will seriously love it too.

At this size, #2 doesn't look soft at all. I do really like the super shallow dof you used here. It makes her eyes pop even more, imho.

#3 is nice as well, but I think the head tilt in #2 makes it slightly more appealing. Maybe it's b/c she's so centered in #3. I can't quite put my finger on it. Technically, it looks like a lovely photo, but #2 grabs me more emotionally. KWIM?

Thanks SO MUCH for sharing these! What a lovely mom-to-be! I'm sure she will treasure these always.

Best,
GiGi

Thank you for your comments and CC everyone!

Amy - I will take a pull back shot to share the next time I do this set up Smile

Yes, this is exactly how I feel. Even though #2 is sharper, it just doesn't work Smile
