My New Carry Bag

I have plenty of camera bags, but in each one's use I've found I wanted something smaller and something 'nice' I could carry my camera in every day. I work full time (5 days a week in an office) and needed something better than the normal camera bag and something small and comfortable.

Well, yesterday I was on the hunt. I scored the internet looking for bags that would fit the bill. Nothing did that wasn't over 100 dollars Sad (and DH won't let me spend any more money on bags unless it's cheap!)

But then, I found the blog of this girl who had used a purse style messenger bag as a DIY camera bag. I actually found the exact one she used and I fell in LOVE! I want one in every color!!!! It holds my Canon 50d with Tamron 28-75 lens attached, my 50mm, 75-300mm, and speedlite. I added a divider I had with another bag so that my lenes and such don't bump around. Need to get some velcro so they secure to the sides. With all of that, it's small enough it doesn't look like a camera bag.

So any who, this is the link to her post oh sweetlee me. I figured if any of you are looking for a nice/pretty carry bag that is cheap, this would fit the bill. FYI - there is NO padding, which is a bit of a downer, but I'm going to line the bottom of mine with some card board and padding at least for the bottom.

And a link to the bag at Kohls just in case you're interested SmileKohl's

Excuse the crappy phone pic!

that's awesome!!!! I have a Tracy Joy bag, and while I love it, I've outgrown it. Sad I'd love to find something like you did and figure out a solution for the dividers. keeping my eye on freecycle for camera bags for the dividers. Wink

Gwen, how dare you throw another bag out there I didn't know about?! Those Tracy Joy bags look great....not good for a girl who has a bag obsession Wink

And I never thought about looking on freecycled for old camera bags. Because as much as I like my new bag, I'm going to need the dividers for the backpack they came out of eventually. (though I will likely not be using them both at the same time)

I want this Kelly Moore bag in the worst way!!! There are so many other things on my list of wants though, and since I don't really NEED this bag, it is toward the bottom. Maybe for Christmas?!

Here's the one I want! http://kellymoorebag.com/womens/the-moore-bag-3.html

What a great idea!!! I think I will have to do something like that too. My camera bag just isn't pretty.

Goodness girls, there are so many nice bags out there! I just wish there were stores that carried these nice girl bags so you can see them. Instead of having to gauge off the internet or buy the bag only to find out it's not quite what you were looking for.

But, I'm loving this bag. I've added some padding to the bottom of the bag and additional dividers so that my gear isn't bumping around. I've carried it with me every day this week! Lol, but I haven't taken a single picture...I really need to start up a 365 or something. I need a boost in creativity.

Alright...can anyone give me a list of all the cute bags?
So far, I've checked out...
Jill E.
Epiphanie
Kelly Moore
Tracy Joy

Any other cute ones out there? Kelly Moore is sold out until September! and the Jill E bag which was my second choice is also sold out.
Long story short, but I just upgraded some equipment, so I'm in need of a new bag!!!

Which Jill-E are you looking at? There are many retailers on the internet that sell them. Adorama, B&H, Amazon, Ebay, etc all carry new Jill-e bags. I think I got mine from B&H.

I'd also look at some of the Etsy bags. They're super cute and I've heard good things about them.
