So yesterday just wasn't a good picture day for A&A. They just did not want to sit still AT all. It was hard to get them to look toward me, or even toward the window most of the time. It was partly-mostly cloudy all day, so we would have a few minutes of bright sun, then a new cloud would come by. I did manage a few decent pictures though. I LOVE the first one. And let me just say it's rather difficult to focus on a baby rocking on a rocking horse. He was having fun though.

It's a shame they weren't really into having their picture taken that day. Your exposure looks very nice. So does the lighting on the first one. In the second one, with where the light source is, I would have flipped the horse the other direction (horse and baby facing the left of the frame). That way you would have had the majority of his face lit, with the other part in shadow. If you notice, you don't see much of the side of his face that is lit, so you are mostly looking at the shadow on his face. Does that make sense?
I'd watch your crops. Looks like you were pretty close to them, so I'd back up a little bit so you don't have limb chops. I would have liked to see the entire rocking horse in the second one.
One last thing, is I think that the red is blown. Especially on your second photo. You can probably lower the saturation of the red in a hue/sat layer to fix that.
I'm being kind of picky, because I think you're on the right track. So keep up the great work!
Wow! You are doing great on exposure! You should be really proud! I too would step back some on the crops, but other than that, these are cute!
