Default Need help with an edit

I have a picture that needs some help, and was wondering if someone is up for the challenge. My client and I LOVE this picture, but you can see the little girl's Elmo underwear a bit, and I'd like to cover it. I gave it a try by using the dropper to select the aqua color from her skirt, and then tried to brush over the underwear with that color to form sort of a "diaper cover" type thing, and it works ALRIGHT, but it's not perfect. Was wondering if someone had any other idea of what could work, and would like to try it out. I can send the file via email if need be. Thanks!

OK. this is a VERY quick pass. I tried to clone her skirt. Then I used the blur tool to soften it a bit. I think I actually blurred it too much and it looked a bit better before I did that, but I saved and closed my edit too soon. Sorry.

But I just wanted to give you an idea of what I tried. I really think that with a little effort, this would work pretty well.

Good luck! I can see why both you and mom love this shot!

    Best,

Thanks girls! Lauren, I never tried to liquify..I'll give it a try. I'm trying to figure out what parts were pushed in?

Love the shot and think that Lauren's edit is fab. I'm scared of the liquify tool, lol!

Liquify tool is amazing. I used it on a photo of myself all the time. To make me look good
