I just bought my son a mini bike for his bday. Well I am all excited to shoot in manual but when I go to adjust my shutter speed it won't go over 1/200 all of a sudden??? I was on manual mode all day yesterday and had no problems. Even when I change the ap I still can't get over 1/200? I really want to get some shots of him before the sun goes down. My camera is the canon xsi. Does anyone know what is causing this?
I tried it with the flash on and off but still nothing. My light meter is not moving at all. I can adjust under 1/200 ex 1/160 1/125 and so on but nothing over 1/200? Not sure if this is something really simple that I am missing or if something is really wrong
go into your menu and check the flash sync see if it is set to 1/200. If it is try to make it higher or turn it off. Also, see if you can turn off your on board flash all together through your menu. This is a shot in the dark since I shoot with a Nikon, but worth a look. GL!
Oh I bet! Good luck, it that doesn't work try just resetting the default settings in camera. That should help. just be sure your flash is totally off and down, and there is no commander mode or on ttl.
