I've been offered the opportunity to photograph a cancer walk in February. It will be candid’s before, during, and after the event. I'm wondering if I should take it on or not. I'm no pro....granted, I would be donating my time, no monetary obligation. BUT, I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up Can you tell I lack confidence in my abilities?
What would you do?
I think you would do a GREAT job! It's a big committment on your part, for sure. But don't doubt your abilities, b/c you HAVE the skill, girl!
KUP with what you decide.
I think this is a wonderful opportunity and great way to give back. I don't think you'll mess up, especially since this is all voluntary, I am sure they will appreciate the photos you'll be taking.

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
GO FOR IT! You can do it! We all have faith in you!

Well, I know if I ever need an ego pump I can come here
Between your helpful encouragement and my thought, I think I'm going to go for it. As long as I can camp out in a 'safe' spot (ie no direct light!) I think I might be OK. I think I'll have free rein to go anywhere on the route I please. This means I'll be able to choose my shots and my locations.
Plus I love that I'm able to get some practice while donating my time to a wonderful cause.
The person offering me this opportunity is also in charge of the photography of the NICU babies at Duke hospital. These are also volunteers and are there for the families to take pictures of the very special needs babies. It might be an interesting opportunity to do that as well...well, that is if she likes me enough.
