Thread: The nerve of some people...

okay... so I have a small business for photography which is insanely busy! I have booked three appointments for next week already! I am a full time teacher, and have two very small children. I only charge $30 per hour for a sitting fee with a $30 minimum cause I dont have loads of confidence yet, and openly tell people that I am working on my portfolio still. I also dont charge much over cost for prints at this time.
So this lady today (in my family no less...) calls me up and tells me that she took her kids to wal mart today and was not happy with their group pictures. So could I please take some group shots for her, and since she only wanted a few, would it still be $30... I told her yes it would still be $30 because I would still have to plan on spending my time with her family and would be unable to schedule any more clients for that afternoon.
Am I being unreasonable?!?

$30 is a bargain - and what is she thinking? Charge her double!

Even though you're new and still portfolio building, I'd totally up your prices to at least $50 to make it worth your while. Definitely stand your ground!

This lady is seriously probably addicted to some type of illegal drug! She is kinda crazy!

i agree with all the other ladies... that lady is crazy. 30 bucks is hella cheap! i'd too up the prices a bit. you are good
