New Name

I'm trying to come up with a new name. I'm not ready for business yet, but I'm thinking of changing from JP Photography to something else. I'm having a hard time being creative. I don't really want my name in there because I think that's becoming too common. I came up with something, but wanted to get opinions....

What about Honeylee Photography. Does that sound weird? I love it because we used to harvest honey when we were little and and Lee is my dad's name (my middle name). I though it was a nice combo. Unique, simple, and not too cutesy to be stuck doing any certain type of photography.

So, OK, or no?

I like the name "Honeylee Photography." I think it lends itself to your nature photography as well as people pictures. I can also see it having a lot of potential for logos and such.

That's my $0.02 worth.

Thanks for the input, GiGi. The more I think about it, the more I like it. DH isn't sold, though Sad But, I'm not thrilled with his choice of name for a landscaping business he wants to start Lol

This is just a quick play on the logo I made. I LOVE the Honeylee font! Not sure if I love the bee coming off the end. I think it's kind of childish...?

Does it look too generic, common?

I wasn't sure of the name at first but now that I see the design I really like it, but I'm no expert.

I like the name, but I'm not crazy about the bee on the logo - it makes me think the name is "Honeybee" instead, especially in that typeface if you just look really quickly. I do like the typeface though. JMHO.

I love that font and the logo. Bee doesn't look childish at all. But i'm wondering if people won't mistake the L for a B? It was the first thing I thought of, but otherwise, I likes it Smile I may have to download that font! Smile

I like it and the I dont think the bee looks childish. I can see where the l might be mistaken for a b but I didnt notice/think of that before it was mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

I'm at work so I can't make the adjustment now, but what if I did HoneyLee instead of all Honeylee. I'm wondering if that would make the Lee part stand out more? That was DH's first reaction as well, so it sounds like it would be a common one across the board. I'll play around with it again when I get home.

I think that would be a good fix for it.

Ok, here's another go....

And a banner...

What do you guys think? I don't think it flows as well, but I also know it was slightly confusing before.

Is there a similar font that has a more defined "l"? It sounds like you prefer the lowercase version more. Do you love it enough to change the font?

FWIW, I like it with the capital L. Smile

I like it both ways. The capital L really makes it stand out as two different words... but I think youw atned it to be one word.. Id go with the lowercase version Smile

the name has grown on me (I wasn't sure of it at first, but I like how it flows with the word "photography"). I'd go with a smaller bee, if you do a bee. maybe you should do a honeycomb instead so that people don't call you "honeybee" instead.

I like the banner!

I too like the way it sounds. I would love for a better more defined "L", but it's fine the way it is too!

Thanks girls. Ok, I gave it another go. How about this one? I thought this flower kind of looked like a honey comb, which I liked from Gwen's suggestion (though I couldn't find an actual honey comb...) And I think the capital L is growing on me.
