Okay, I was working on my b&ws and I don't know....I just feel like I suck. I sometimes want them creamy and sometimes I want them contrast-y. (Is that a word?! ) Anyways, I would love to hear your CC. As always, you can play with them too!

4. Wish it wasn't so centered and I wish there was more light in her eyes, but I still think it's cute. You don't have to CC it though.
5. ETA this one. I had shared a b&w of this one before, but now I played with the sat some. What do you think?

Hi Sadie! I love that first pic! I think it could have just a hint more contrast added to boost it up, but I'm still learning too. I think #2 is slightly too much contrast--maybe somewhere right in between #1 and #2 would be perfect? But again, I'm still new at this too.
#4 is adorable--I'd crop it so she fills the frame, so her eyes & nose are at the top 1/3
#5, I'm not sure....seems too saturated now. For me anyway. I still have to play with that one as a B&W for you, I remember now. I'll do that tonight!

Thanks Amy. I really appreciate your CC. I was kind of going for a more contrast-y look on number 2. Randall liked it that way. I know it only works in few pics, but I was hoping this was one of them.
As for the last one, I was going for a more saturated look b/c it makes those greens and yellows really pop, but if it's too much, I'll try to redo it.
I think #2 is your best BW of the bunch. Is that a boo-boo under his nose?
#1 looks a little too dark and grey, bokeh is lovely tho I think the last colour one is ok on your DD but the background seems to be bordering on neon a bit Love the one of her in her uniform
i love #1! maybe a touch more contrast would be nice. #2 is looking good on my end. you should try a chocolate b&w. My DH knows nothing when it comes to photography. I showed him a picture once with some nice bokeh and it was a pic of my daughter and he said "it would be much better if the picture was nice and crisp" .. I was like "huh? what are you talking about?" him "the background is all blurry" LOL!!! I told him it's suppose to be like that and that's how I meant to have it. It's more appealing to the eye. haha. That made me giggle.
anyway moving on you could definitely crop #4 a bit. the last one looks fine to me actually. maybe a touch too saturated but i just love those colors! #3 looks more like a snapshot to me. maybe if you cropped it a bit different so there isn't so much space around them?
#1 needs a bit more contrast, maybe lighten the midtones a bit more too.
#2 looks a little oversharpened
#4 i find i dont mind centered pics if they are cropped close, maybe trying cropping in a bit so you have less negative space on the top.
#5 The grass is a bit too neonfor me.
it's great to see you posting so much, Sadie! it looks like you are really getting comfortable with both your camera and your post processing skills.
I'm a fan of high contrast b&w. so I would like to see #1 bumped up in contrast a good bit. but that is just me.
I think #2 is right on the money for my tastes.
On #3, I think I would crop in just a bit more on the 2 of them, maybe loose some of the grass at the bottom of the frame. Make the 2 of them a bit more prominent in the frame. Great capture.
#4 is FUN! I'd like a closer crop, maybe just below the team name to just above her hat. I love this one!
#5 ... I'm gonna be different and say how much I really like the super saturated look here. It has an artistic feel and, to me, doesn't need to be 'true to nature' to be appreciated. I think it gives it a dreamy kind of quality and I just like it.
I agree #1 could use a little more contrast
#2 looks good to me and is my favorite of these, but my eyes keep going back to the spot under his nose... before I read that it was a booboo I kept wondering.. Is that a mole? I don't remember seeing that before?? or is it a big boogie? anyways... It's totally personal preference weather to keep it there or remove it.
#3 looks like more of a snapshot.
#4 is a bit nuclear for my taste..
Great job on these overall!
Sadie, these are too cute! Already gave you my thoughts on the first. LOVE #2 (focus looks great!). I'd definitely change the crop on #3, and with #4, it deserves a much closer crop (it's adorable!). not loving the over the top sat on #5, but I think it's great that you're playing more.
