I lurk here quite a bit but really haven't posted too much. I'm hoping to start taking pictures again so will hopefully start posting more. I bought some lights and a backdrop stand in anticipation of DD2s arrival and never got a chance to practice before she was born. Anyway, here's a few I took today. Definitely looking for some cc. I'm not terribly happy with the lighting (it's much harsher than what I want) and am going to try to take some more tomorrow. These are from Canon 50D 17-40Lf4. I think I'm going to try my 50mm 1.4 tomorrow. I was also just shooting in P mode.

Wow - does photobucket alter images at all? The color is off especially in the last two. The originals are not that gray.

Congrats on your new little one! She's beautiful! I'd say you need a tad more light, they seem a little dark. I like #1 the best, but I'd crop it a little differently so her face isn't centered and then try and brighten it up a bit if you use an editing program. I'm not sure if photobucket alters the pics at all, I stick with flickr. #2 I like that we can see her cute outfit, but the angle seems a little awkard to me.

sorry that photobucket altered your color so much.

I like #2 the best though I would probably crop it a bit (taking space off of the top and left) so that baby's face isn't dead center.

They all look like they are under exposed. Opening up more w/ your 50mm/1.4 will likely help that a lot.

Your LO is quite adorable and that outfit is just too cute! I'm sure w/ a few tweaks you'll get some shots you are truly happy with.

    TFS!

I am sure you will rock it with your 1.4! I agree, underexposed, but I like #1 best, especially if you can smooth the two blankets/background together.
