Newborn session this weekend (4 for cc)

Had the most wonderful session with a beautiful 12 day old baby girl

She did NOT want to sleep and slept very lightly so it was a challenge but fun Smile

Did some editing LATE last night. Going to seriously do some PP this weekend on a few they want enlarged.

***All were ISO 100***

How fun! I am in a rush, so hope the CC is helpful
#1 cute concept, but several channels look blown and the shadowing around them is strange. Also wish I could see baby's face
#2 and 3, lost a ton of detail by being really bright. Maybe just lost in PP process and can be recovered.
#4 cute. See an area up top that needs to get cloned out / burned. otherwise looks good

Will CC when I get to a calibrated monitor. First thing I notice is images are exceptionally bright.

I like # 2 the best.

Good job.

Just looked at them on an uncalibrated monitor at work....holy brightness batman! They are not blown on a calibrated monitor and not quite as saturated. The parents wanted some color so I have to work on the skin tone and color cast from that REALLY pink blanket. I didn't crop since I am waiting to see what sizes they would like. I am going to do another session with her in two weeks so I am on the hunt for some backdrops Smile Maybe if it is warm enough, some out side shots too.

Here is the color version of the black and white one I posted (looks sooooo magenta on my monitor at work). I could not get her to open her little hands so I snapped a few shots and moved her to a more comfortable position curled up on a blanket.

I'm going to leave color out of my CC as I am (again) at work and on one of the worst monitors in existence. Blum 3

Set #1:
=======
1. focus and exposure look fairly good to me, but the lack of eye/face contact is bothersome. what a great prop though!

2. this looks too bright/over exposed. I'm hoping that's just in the conversion b/c this is a GREAT shot, imho!!! I'll bet mom and dad really love it.

3. you might want to knock down the contrast just a bit as we are losing detail on the feet. this is very well executed.

4. very nice take on a classic shot.

Set #2:
=======
1. Looks magenta on my monitor too, but I don't know how accurate that is IRL. Really nice shot. Even in color this is one of my faves (& I am generally a bigger fan of b&w).

2. looks like the forehead is a little bright, so you might want to dial the contrast back just a TAD. I love this shot though. There is something about squishy baby faces that always gets me. This is a nice conversion too.

3. I like this one too, but again the contrast seems a bit high so taht baby is starting to look blown.

4. LOVE THIS!!! That little skull cap is adorable and I'll bet this ends up being one of their favorites. Exposure and focus look pretty good. On this horrid monitor, baby looks a bit magenta, but take that for waht it is worth.

TFS! Even if you did give me a case of baby fever. Biggrin

Best,
GiGi

Can't comment on color, because I'm at work. But, #1 would have liked either eyes shut or looking at the camera. This one just seems so-so. #2 is adorable! Can't decide if I like the color or bw better. Either way, it's a winner in my book Smile #3 (toes with rings) is cute but wish I could see more of the other parent's ring. It just isn't playing a big role in the photo. I get the feeling that one parent just isn't as important as the other...does that make sense?! #4 (baby laying in arms) I'm not fond of at all. It has a very lifeless feel to me. The bw just seems to make it a bit worse. I think it's the baby's mouth being open. LOVE #2 of the second set you posted. It's such a sweet photo of the sleeping baby. Puts a smiel on my face Smile #3 of the second set isn't doing it for me. It just isn't as strong of a composition. Maybe a closer crop of the face and upper torso? #4 of the second set is adorable. Love the color. I probably would have not pulled the blanket right up behind the baby.

All in all, I bet mom and dad love these Smile

The last one on your second post is best photo in terms of exposure. Not too bright.
