Default Newborn Shoot - Peed, Pooped & Puked on, & I couldn't be happier

Oh boy when you all say newborn shoots are hard work, you really really mean it.

Firstly I hadn't met my new nephew yet and the experience was amazing, he was so tiny, the hospital weighed him wrong and he was a whole pound and a half lighter than I was told typical of the hospital though.

However I was so excited to meet him, thought I would bawl my eyes out and yet I didnt

He is just a little angel. He had flakey skin all over, blue little feet and a huge belly button, he had scratches on his face and a bad rash in his arm pits, poor little thing.

After I had my snuggle we decided to get to it.... all the way to the house I was really stressing over not getting anything usable having so little experience with people photos and none with newborns

Then I get told he hates being naked I thought, there go all my ideas

However we decided to just go for it, my sister had boob at the ready to settle him back into a dreamy state which worked quite well

Anyway Settings, I dont really have the energy to get them but might add them tomorrow if I do.

But feel free to CC on anything. They are so not perfect at all but I am in love with the hanging ones to which I am proud to say are only slightly cropped and sharpened for web and nothing else.

I'd love to hear from you

Firstly, when I got there I was surprised to see my other gorgeous niece's there and managed to get a few photos of them, loved this one, even though Anna is not looking at me.

Great job! I love number 8. Mom's face just shows how much she loves her little guy! I really like the hanging ones. It makes me think of how he'd been in the womb.

Great job! I like the hanging ones and the one of your nieces. The skin tones are a little different in each one. But obviously I'm no judge of that!

    Thanks

I am crap with skin tones but the poor little guy was multicoloured and I didnt want to mess with it too much.

My nieces, there is no PP on that one other than a slight crop, they have such creamy skin

Anyway had a chance to get through a few more

I should explain the 'Smiley' picture.

My sister's nickname growing up was smiley because thats all she ever did. My nephew's name is Seth Matthew and his last name, ironically is Iley so S.M.Iley SMILEY

hooray for your shoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love seeing this little guy, what a cutie!

and your nieces are too cute!

okay, I have a few comments but I'm short on time.

    1. I'm seeing a lot of yellow here - try to do a selective color layer and see if you can take some out.

    2. the angle just seems awkward to me.

baby's skintones are all over the place. he's either pink or yellow in these. I can't give great advice other than to try to be consistent. did you shoot in RAW? if so, try to get the same color temp in these if you shot them all with the same light. it will help with the processing.

    4. seeing more yellow here too

    7. Love mom's happiness here!

you really got the hanging baby down!! that looks terrific!

and it's nice to see you too.

that's neat what you did with the words on the last bunch. I think the "grandson" doesn't show as well - can you process them differently so they pop more and mask them back in? and I love the story behind "smiley"!
