Okay, I'm gonna ask.......

I just dont get the skin tone thing! I mean I understand what the difference is by look of course but how do you actually FIX it other than getting the shooting environment right from the start.

Obviously I don't get to shoot people very often and really did have fun with my nephew and of course my niece's last weekend and yeah I got some half decent shots but I just don't know what I can do with the skin tones to make them look better.

***Edited to add...... I decided to look at photoshop a fair bit deeper than I had been and while I am still very much a beginner I think I might have a slightly better understanding than I did before........ Still would like advice and would like opinions on what I have done***

So some examples/questions

These two I see yellow but no matter what I do I cant fix it

And this one... Yellow, red....... and my re-edit

I need one of those light bulb moments where it suddenly clicks in my head, can ANYONE help me Biggrin

And just a couple more I had another play with

I wish I could help, but I am such a newbie that I have NO idea either. But I did want to compliment you on the great photos! Your niece and nephew are precious!

Caz...sorry you're not getting many responses here. It's just such a huge issue and very complicated to answer. Best thing to do is read some tutorials there is a really great skin color one.

Here is a you tube video...though I admit, I didn't watch it all:

Thanks Amber. I'll check out the links. I know its a big issue and for someone like me who just doesn't 'get it' as quick as others may but I am determined to keep plugging along until I can produce a good result.

Thanks again too, for everyone who takes the time to read posts from me, I do appreciate any feedback I get
