Her skin tone looks very cool on my uncalibrated monitor, so take my CC with a grain of salt. I am not liking her being centered, I wish you had more space above her and to her right (our left), to make a stronger protrait image.

Otherwise, bokeh, clarity is good.

Thanks, I am also irritated about her being centred as I have generally stopped doing it but somehow this one ended up that way...

On my monitor, which I must sort out, she looks very red...hmmmm!

Hey Sue!! Nice to see you posting here! Hannah is gorgeous! Apart from the centering (I still do it sometimes, mainly with Zack as he is so fast!), she looks magenta and a bit cool to me, but I am uncalibrated. I agree that the exposure, focus and clarity look great! What lens did you decide to go for in the end?!

I'm seeing the magenta here too. and you know, centered really isn't bad. I mean, some people just prefer it. every photo can't have the perfect composition ... and it's the subject matter that's important. Wink

I went for the Canon 70-200mm F4 L and I LOVE it!

So how do I get rid of the magenta? Thanks.

I had a very quick play, just did a colour balance layer (in photoshop) and added a bit of green. It may be a touch too much, like I said, I'm not calibrated. I guess you would need to watch for her hair turning too green, kwim? There are private on my flickr, but I can take them down if you want.

I would possibly still warm her up a tad. It could be our kids with fair British skin. Zack is soooo pale I find I always have to warm my images slightly

I don't see the magenta, but I'm uncalibrated here at work.

Also, I happen to like the centered composition here. It doesn't always work, but it's not always wrong either. KWIM?

TFS!

I do see the magenta. I don't mind the centering either, but that's just me. It doesn't bug me as much. Wink

So just one quick question, as the picture was SOOC where has the magenta come from? Is it some setting on the camera?

Thanks!

What WB setting is your camera set to? I admit that I use auto white balance (have started to change, using either flash or cloudy - makes changing WB as a batch much easier).

It's set to auto. Do you use cloudy when you're taking in shade?

in camera, some "processing" is done - it guesses at your WB, and can add the magenta. just like in ACR when you click "auto", magenta/green can be changed.

I'd fix it in ACR (even if you shot in JPG) before trying to take out the magenta in Photoshop. I do think the edit is too green.

Thanks but what is ACR?
