one for CC (color) and a question about 3 month olds

Here is one I took of DD while she was "talking" to me today on the couch! I really want to work on getting the color better in my photos. Any CC welcome please! I really, really wish the blanket was solid or at least a different, smaller pattern!

Also, I'm going to attempt to do some 3 month photos of her. I have a gigantic tutu (not really, but it will be on her right now) that I would like to put her in for her 3, 6, 9, 12 month photos to see how she grows. I know posing a 3 month old is challenging and there's not a lot you can do, but any advice, photos you want to share, etc. welcome!

Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/1.8
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 800

Nice focus and great catchlights! Looks like she needs some warming up to me Smile

Not sure what advice to give on the 3 month photos though. I attempted some of Carson at 3 months for some home photos, and I'll share a couple. Though, I'm warning you, I had just gotten into photography, and had my point and shoot. I didn't really have a clue what I was doing. So they're not good in the slightest. Definitely snap shot-y. But I'll share anyway for positions.

I think for this one, I propped the Boppy up under the blanket and put him on his tummy. I'm sure you could do something similar, but include more of her body in it to show off the tutu.

Wouldn't help with the tutu, but I propped him up more on his side for this one. I think he was kinda leaning on the Boppy.

Hope you're not laughing too hard at these!! Wink

What a cute shot! I agree that the catchlights are lovely.

You could pretty easily clone out the white stripe with green on the edge of the blanket. It would be a little harder to do the area around the ear, but I think the composition would still be good if you left that little swatch alone.

I also suggest lowering your ISO, when possible. Higher ISOs can make photos look grainy. All in all, though, it's a very cute photo!

Very cute! Looks a tad green to me, but then again, I'm not calibrated and I've said that about other people's pics too... So I'm starting to think it might just be me. See what the calibrated people have to say about that. Her eyes look beautiful!

As for posing at 3 months... Oh goodness. I guess it depends on how good of neck control she has. I like the look of them propped up on their own forearms if their neck/upper body control is pretty good.

Awww, how cute! I like the softness of the color scheme, but yes it probably could use some warming up. I'm horrible at skin tones/color though, so take my advice with a grain of salt LOL! What a sweeeeet little girl!

Three months old is HARD! Here is one I did a while back. I sat her in the basket. She wasn't sitting up on her own yet and she was around 3 months.

I also think your pic needs warming.

A note on the tutu, when DD had her 3 month pictures, the photographer put a blanket on a bouncer chair, then put the tutu on it, and laid her ON the tutu and it looked like she was wearing it Smile
