Overlooked picture revisited NEW EDIT #5

I was going through some older shots and found this one from a few weeks back that I didn't even process then. I thought it was cute and decided to process it now. Not sure I like the processing though. I feel like it needs something else.

Well, I like it! She is a doll! I think it's a great capture and your processing is good too.

Awwww! Love this! I think it would look awesome with a medium texture! I cant comment on color cause Im at work and everything looks pink and dark!

I just love it! It may be just a touch too brown and her skin not popping quite enough. If you happen to have Katie's fun in the sun action...or maybe the Sunshine In Your Hand action...one of those at a really low opacity might do the trick. Or maybe even just a low opacity overlay layer.

Thanks for the tips Amber. That is exactly what I was looking for. See you should teach classes! I would definitely pay for it!

I did Katie's Fun in the Sun Action at 20% then a screen layer at 25% and another screen layer at 18% on just her face.

Here it is.

What a cute photo, and edit! Don't you love looking back at old folders and refinding "new" treasures? Smile

What a gorgeous shot! The second edit is definitely better but lacking in blacks and contrast a bit.

Here I did a gradient layer set to luminosity and then also a levels adj. layer to bring up the blacks a bit and it really pops:

Maybe pops too much for some tastes, but obviously the layer opacities could be adjusted. It's set to private in my flickr but I'll take it down if you wish of course!
