Perhaps a canvas? CC, please

I took this two days ago of DS and I love it. It's HIM in a picture - sneaky, silly, adorable. So, I'm thinking of getting this printed - perhaps even a canvas. But, i've been really struggling with nailing focus lately. It's really been upsetting me. I *think* I got it on this one, but I would like other eyes, please. I unfortunately don't have the settings - I'm at work and I'm taking this from my Flickr. I know I sharpened it, and applied PW's boost action (40% opacity) and bright eyes action (40% opacity). Is it too much? Thanks for the CC!

Great image Krista! Smile it seems a bit cool...and i say that because the whites of his eyes appear blue to me. Otherwise processing doesn't look too much to me. Smile

I love it. Especially since you added the background on how he is. I think if you love it, you should print it. Don't listen to what others say all the time b/c if it's your boy, and you know that's how he is, it's worth printing! I think it's adorable! It is a TAD bit cool though.

I noticed the blue in the whites of his eyes too, but otherwise I agree that this is a great shot and I think it would look awesome as a nice big print! Smile

Best,

I will definitely warm it up a tad when I get home tonight. I do see what you all are saying about the whites of his eyes seeming a bit blue. Do the blown finger tips bother you very much?

Thanks very much for the CC!

I think it's adorable!!! I like the texture of the wood and the framing it does. I might suggest finding a way to tone down the bright crack in the back of the barn/buidling.

I love it! Yes, it needs to be warmed up but that's easy enough. Focus looks good to me but this is a small version. Once you apply your sharpening for print, expand your view to 100% (so if you're getting a 16x20, then viewing at 100% would be what it would be like when it's in your hands) - then you can truly check for the focus. You don't want it to arrive and then look soft to you. But I think you'll be okay with this one. Smile

Do you use ps? I would just check the margins to see if you need to stretch the bottom at all, it's going to be pretty close to the edge of the canvas with wrapping. Looks great though! I might try to tone down the redness around his eyes a smidge.

Cute shot. To me, it almost looks a little oversharpened...especially the eyes. Could just be flickr doing it, but you might want to check.

she doesn't have to wrap though, she could do black edges (canvasondemand.com has that option). I got my canvas using Groupon http://www.groupon.com/r/uu4423709 There's usually several deals in a week where you can get a 16x20 canvas for $45. I got my first one from them a couple of weeks ago and I'm happy with it. Actually I have another groupon for a canvas waiting for me to finish working on it. Wink

I love this image--it's totally the style of photo I enjoy viewing! I use Gimp (still haven't gotten PS), which has a canvas effect. Have you tried an effect to see if you like the shot on canvas? I think I would have to see it to decide; I wouldn't want the grain of the canvas to take away from the lovely textures in the original photo. The only other thing I might do is play with the crop just slightly as he's nearly centered.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful CC everyone. I can't wait to get to this tonight. I think I'll open the SOOC version again and try a few different things with it. I really do appreciate all the advice!
