I have decided that I would like to buy new editing software. I would like some recommendations for fairly easy to use software.
Photography is a hobby for me. I do not ever intend to do photography professionally or make any kind of money doing it. I mostly like to practice and try new things. I usually take pics of my pets and nature and soon I will be taking pics of my baby when she arrives.
And I don't want to invest a huge amount of money in software. One of my really good friends recommended CS4, but $699 for software just seems a tad excessive at my skill level and what I want to do with it.
What do you ladies think?
What are you using for photo editing right now?

My computer came with Picasa 3 and I have a free program called Arcsoft.
I dont know much about the different types of software. I have CS2 and love it. I think there is a photoshop elements that may be less expensive, but still very good. There are probably lots of others out there to choose from too. I wish I could help more!
You can download GIMP. It's a free editing software. Most of the tools are similar to photoshop. I use GIMP here at work.

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
Gimp is a great product once you get the hang of it, you may also want to try Adobe lightroom for mass editing or elements
