Nature's not really my thing either, but I think these are really nice shots. I was wondering what they were too? Your kiddos are very cute too

COOL SHOTS! I'm no nature expert either, but these are really fun. Here's my $0.02 worth ...

1). LOVE LOVE LOVE the use of directional light here! It really creates a very dramatic look and works perfectly! I think I would prefer a portrait crop on this though, with that cluster of 4 stalks to the left of center being the main bulk of the image after the crop. I think I know why you went with landscape here ... including the full field of stalks creates an immense sense of scope, but I think that the one slightly oof stalk to the right competes for my attention.

2). this is my favorite of the 2 shots. I just love the detail and that funny little curly at the top. the bokeh on this image is so creamy. you should consider this for the bokeh COTW (see the stickies).

Now ... with all of that said, you're gonna have to tell us what these things ARE!

TFS and hope we see a lot more from you!

    Best,
    GiGi

Cool photos! I've never seen this type of plant either.

I think you might want to play around with the cropping in #1. The dark patch in the upper-right corner and the chopped-off top of the tall plant bother me a little and take my eye off the focal point. Like GiGi said, I'd also like to see a vertical version, but I like the horizontal as well.

The bokeh is nice in #2, and I like the little loopity-loop you've captured on the top of the plant. It would be cool to see the same shot taken in different lighting conditions, just to see how the dynamic changes.

I think these are cool! I don't know what kind of CC you're looking for (and you should post camera settings when asking for CC), but I think these turned out really neat.

    Default Plants.....

Regarding these fun little plants, I have no idea what they are however there is a field full of them by our house. I feel in love with them!! I was using my Canon Rebel Xti EF 75-300 lens here again. I agree with the crop on photo one. Thanks guys!!

Great color and clarity and DOF! I too would probably crop the 1st one.

These appear to be some type of Allium....I'm going to try to look them up.

Edit: they've gotta be cultivated white Allium...since there's a whole field of them....the flower buds aren't open yet in your pics.
