Please help (pet death ment)

I need ps help please. One of my cats passed away unexpectedly (but peacefully) at home one week ago today Cray 2
She was 12yrs old and not sick at all, looks like she passed in her sleep. I do not have a ton of photo's she's one had of the most beautiful colours on a cat I've ever seen (very vibrant calico) but she always looked like she was squinting in photos even though I never used flash haha, silly girl.

Anyway I took this one recently, she was half asleep but the way the sun was falling on her I just had to try. We got a paw print when we took her to the vet and we want to put the paw print with a photo (probably this one).

Could you please cc my edit/crop and offer ways to make it as perfect as I can.
Much much appreciated.

original (no edit, just saved jpg from original raw file)

my attempt, edited only in acr and then cropped to 8*10 - not 100% sure the final size yet until I find the frame but I thought it was a good guess to start with

Just wanted to say I'm sorry, what a sweetie you had there, I'm a cat lover too and she's beautiful.

thanks

No one has thoughts? Is the edit/photo that bad that it's not saveable? Smile

I think your crop is too close. I think it would look better cropped so the right hand side of the photo stopped just where the wall stopped and then have the bottom be whatever it needs to be to get the proportions you want. I like the shading on the wall and the lighting on the floor, so it would be a shame to lose those elements.

It's a really sweet photo...and I think perhaps there haven't been any suggestions because it's really pretty good as is.

Just did a quick edit in photobucket (not on cs4 computer right now).

Is this "roughly" what you were meaning? I doubt it's a perfect 8*10 edit I just did with my eyes....oh and this is a crop of my original none edit so this version is for crop cc only Smile

thanks for the suggestions, makes sense. I wish at the time I had taken more care to frame her so I had more cropping options

Yeah...that's what I meant. Then you just take off the bottom what is necessary to get to the right ratio. I think it looks great that way.

thanks, I thought her eyes were too centered that way but I didn't check haha

Sorry about your cat Sad I agree with Amber, the second crop looks really nice. I think it will look even better with a little less on the bottom.

I agree that the 1st crop was too tight. Your 2nd looks great.

I'll ditto pp ... the 2nd crop is the way to go. I actually like the original quite a bit as well. It creates a very peacefrul mood.

I'm sorry for your loss. We're still dealing w/ the loss of our dog from 5 months ago (it hit Loli harder than we realized and every few months he brings it back up again - I guess it's his way of wrapping his brain around the event).

I'm so sorry about your loss. This is the first time I've opened this thread (just been really busy, so far behind on this board!). I like the second crop, and I look forward to seeing it with her paw print. I'm glad you got this capture when you did. She looks like a sweet kitty.
