Point and Shoot Advice

So my mother in law is wanting (needing!) a new point and shoot. The flash on her current one takes FOREVER! She is always missing snaps because of it. She'll push the shutter button, and it will literally take 5 seconds to actually take the picture. Then, not to mention, she can't buy SD cards for it, because the new ones are not compatible with her camera, and they don't make the old ones anymore (at least that we've been able to find).

She will NEVER do anything more than snap the picture with her camera. But she does want a decent small point and shoot to take pictures of her grandkids. Anyone know of a decent one (that doesn't take forever to flash???), and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I love the Nikon cool pix line of cameras, but really, there are a LOT of great p&s options out there.

My advice would be to go to www.dpreview.com and search by price range. You'll get a lot of great options that way.

Best of luck!

I shoot Nikon dslr but i think that Canon has the market on P&S. They have some really amazing cameras for good prices. I learned a lot about picture taking from my canon and the shots always came out really well.
