Project 52: Week 5 - Lines

Since no one picked a theme for Week 5, I went ahead and chose one for us!

Our week 5 theme is "Lines"!

Let see those pictures! Please feel free to CC or ask for comments on your picture.

Have fun!

You guys are all off to such a great start this week! WOW!

Kerry ... what kind of processing did you do on that image? It's got a really nice "glow" (for lack of a better word - I'm exhausted and my mind is not in gear today) to it. Really makes me want to climb those steps and see what is beyond. LOVE IT!

Katie, works for me!!

El, nice one! I wouldn't have thought of it! Seems I am not the only one finding a camera phone useful (especially as one of my cameras is at the repair centre Sad )

Gigi, it would have been processed with snapseed on my phone, possible with one of the light vintage presets. If you take pictures on your phone it's a great app. Here is the SOOC so you can see that the sky/light was pretty amazing anyway. The camera metered for the sky so the foreground is darker than I would have liked. As for whats at the top, it's one of the most humbling things I have ever seen

about the memorial

Kerry- Do you have the Camera+ app? It lets you choose what area of the image to expose for before taking the picture. It's soooo nice if you take a lot of pictures with your phone.

Amazingly enough, no I don't (and I have a fair few photography related apps!) I will look into that! I currently use ProCapture mostly.

Nice ones! Kerry, I like that shot a lot too... though I don't have a smart phone, so sometime I'll have to try to duplicate that processing on my own!

Here's a couple from me. I have lots of ideas, but unless the weather clears up, there's only one I can try. For now...

"Leaf lines":

Lines on Micah's toy guitar (which actually doesn't have strings, just buttons, in case you're wondering why you don't see strings!):

Cool, El!

Here's one of the ones I had in mind... would be better at sunset or sunrise, but I can't get out of the house at those times of day right now. I caught a break in the clouds (though not the rain; it was pouring during this shot) to get this one.

Haha Tracy, we had the same idea. We have those the next town over with a similar type of landscape. I hadn't had a chance to get over there yet though.

Very nice, everyone! A quick one for me--this is the top of my laundry hamper.

I have another idea, and I hope to get to it before the week is over.

You guys are AWESOME! I've been stuck at work so much that I haven't had much time for creativity w/ this exercise. So this morning, I went scouting lines around the house after breakfast while Logan was getting ready for school. Here are a few I found:

Nice ones, GiGi and Suzanne!

I must be bored/tired this week, because I have yet another one to share! My last one, I promise!

El ... since today is the first of February, how about we do 'Love' for this week? Or would you like to save that for Valentine's week?

Just a thought.

Great shots everyone! Very inspiring. Smile

I just got around to posting the ones I took last week for curves.... So needless to say I've been short on time. I have to work tomorrow so I took today off to REALLY CLEAN my apartment, aka get organized again. (Maybe it will make it easier when it's time to move into our new house in a few months...) I have an idea for this week, but I'm thinking I might not have time til Sunday.

Before it's too late I wanted to add a quick "macro" that I took at work.

Thanks, it is actually a small sheet of lined notepaper! I liked how getting ultra-close almost makes the lines look like they have actual depth to them, as if they were grooves.

My idea had been to drive by our house and take some pictures of the brick they laid this week. However, there were people there working... ON A SUNDAY! At any rate, we decided to take the kids by the Botanical Gardens that isn't far away. Here's some stuff I managed to find while there.
