If we had lovely purples like that around here, I'd be drawn to it as well. Smile

I'm ignoring work (which I should NOT be doing, but ...) ... so anyway ... I don't have time for comments on all, but I'll pick a few of my favorites before getting back to the grind. Smile

1. how tiny are these blooms? they appear so delicate. WOW! I don't know what the red/orange thing is behind them, but I love that it acts to further emphasize the purple blooms. GREAT composition!

5. mind if I ask your settings and lens on this one? I love how wonderfully soft and creamy your bokeh is here while the flower is still in perfect focus. It looks to me like this was probably taken when the sun was fairly high in the sky (looking at the shadows), but nothing looks harsh. In fact, the petals seem to be soaking up the sun.

8. this may be my favorite of the set. It looks to me like it should be on a post card or calendar or something. the purples really stand out in all that green. I'd hang this in my office. Smile

13. it was hard to pick a favorite of these (daisies? I'm terrible w/ flowers). whatever they are, you really photographed them well and I love this last one. It looks to me like a purple sunrise. I can almost feel the soft tickle of the pollen when I look at it.

Really, truly LOVELY shots!!!

TFS!

I am not a big fan of the colour pink so my garden has a lot of purple. I think your pictures of the flowers are beautiful.

Thank you so much everyone! I cannot wait till my own wildflower garden explodes with blooms---it is so close! my yarrow is already out Smile

GiGi I will get those settings for you. Yes the sun was still bright but I LOVE how they look in the sunshine and I try to compensate for harshness with my settings. Flowers lit up in the sun is such a natural, beautiful thing that I never think it is a bad time to photograph them! Smile

I forget what the red thing was too LOL! but yes the flowers in #1 are VERY tiny and they run along the stem of the plant (it's a runner-type wildflower which I can't think of the name at the moment)

Thanks!!!

GiGi, my settings for #5 were: 1/2500, f/5, 218mm, ISO 400. I had to add contrast in post processing because the sooc was a bit grayed down overall.
