Default Question about actions and editing in general...

When you use an action on a picture (or just edit your pictures in a certain way) do you print your pictures out that way or is the action only for web viewing purposes? I can't figure out if its ok to print pictures with an action. I have been messing around with editing lately and have been playing around with actions but making my own actions too. Just messing around right. Well I can't quite figure out if its ok to print with them or just do your basic editing and print and do the other editing for web only. I guess it just depends on how I feel right? I mean, I see many different styles out there that I absolutely love and I'm trying to find my own I guess. I don't think I will for awhile though but I'm having fun exploring photoshop I guess you could say. Experimenting. I love Katie's style for example. I just wonder if she actually prints her pictures out with the actions she uses? Just an example. I haven't tried yet actually. I'm just curious. Hopefully I can share a few pictures soon. Thanks!

I don't have a positive yes or no, but I would assume yes they do print. I mean, just because it's an action doesn't mean it's not printable. It's the style and feel of the photo and I think would diminish the person's work if they altered that picture again for printing.

I guess I see actions as similar to converting to Black and white. You would still print a black and white pic. That's an edit to the pic you would want to preserve.

    BUT, I could be wrong

ETA: I am planning on printing my vintage azalea picture. I'll let you know how it turns out!

awesome! I bet it will look nice.

I was thinking that if a certain action is their style (like that person created their own action inspired by others out there right) then it would be their own unique style and that is how they print? I mean if they didn't then it would be a completely different style right?

So far I haven't used many premade actions from other people, well because I don't use PS (I use PSP)...although I've re-created one or two in PSP while just playing around.....but surely if someone has an entire website dedicated to providing premade actions for people to buy/download/use, then it must be ok by the creator for people to use them on their own pics and print them if they want. Otherwise, what's the point right?

I definitely print lots of my own pics that I've done "actions" on (meaning a series of edits, which is all an action is, it's a prerecorded series of edits that you can do in one click). They print great!
