REALLY silly question!

Sooo, I've been trying to get up the courage to start shooting RAW. One day last week I decided to go ahead and at least switch to RAW + jpeg just to have that flexibility. So imagine my surprise when I went to change it on the camera and I already had it set to that. ROFL So for the whole year that I have had my camera I have been using it that way and never even knew it. Go ahead, laugh. I did! Smile

Anyway, on to my question. I can't seem to figure out how to actually open the RAW file. Where do I find it? I've tried a few times now and I think I am only opening the jpeg like always. Any insight? I am using Elements 8. TIA!

when you upload your pictures the raw file should be right next to the jpeg file. What mode have you been shooting in? I know in auto its just jpeg pictures that are taken but any other mode you get the raw+jpeg Smile but it should be right next to the jpeg. Mine are anyway. And that's pretty funny and cool. Smile I'm not sure how you open them on Elements but I know there's a plug in or something you need to download. I think you can get it from the adobe website. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, I think it's free...? I don't know. Smile I use CS3.

yup, as long as your not using the auto mode, they should be with your jpegs. If you use auto, you only get jpegs. and I agree with everything else here too Smile

you're so funny! when I was using PSE I used the organizer to import from the camera, and then chose which photos to open in ACR.

Glad I can entertain you! Lol I swear I am really book smart about some things, but I have ZERO common sense.
