Sooo, I've been trying to get up the courage to start shooting RAW. One day last week I decided to go ahead and at least switch to RAW + jpeg just to have that flexibility. So imagine my surprise when I went to change it on the camera and I already had it set to that.So for the whole year that I have had my camera I have been using it that way and never even knew it. Go ahead, laugh. I did!
Anyway, on to my question. I can't seem to figure out how to actually open the RAW file. Where do I find it? I've tried a few times now and I think I am only opening the jpeg like always. Any insight? I am using Elements 8. TIA!
when you upload your pictures the raw file should be right next to the jpeg file. What mode have you been shooting in? I know in auto its just jpeg pictures that are taken but any other mode you get the raw+jpegbut it should be right next to the jpeg. Mine are anyway. And that's pretty funny and cool.
I'm not sure how you open them on Elements but I know there's a plug in or something you need to download. I think you can get it from the adobe website. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, I think it's free...? I don't know.
I use CS3.
you're so funny! when I was using PSE I used the organizer to import from the camera, and then chose which photos to open in ACR.
