Renaissance snaps

Hi all ...

This will be my last share for some time to come. I'm having surgery on my right shoulder in 2 days and won't be able to pick up my camera for a whole month (my right arm is going to be strapped to my side).

I'm trying to not get too depressed about all of the holiday moments I'm going to miss. DS is manning my p&s and DH will use my "big gun" so we'll still have plenty of holiday photos, but I really prefer to be on the back side of the camera.

ANYWAY .... enough whining on my part.

We spent black Friday at the Texas Renaissance Festival rather than braving the crowds at the malls, etc. We had a GREAT time and it was nice to have some new photo subjects.

1. f/5 ss=1/125 iso=160 62mm

2. f/5.6 ss=1/125 iso=400 200mm

3. f/5.6 ss=1/125 iso=400 200mm

4. f/5.3 ss=1/200 iso=500 75mm

5. f/6.5 ss=1/200 iso=500 65mm

I hope to be able to lurk and surf sometime next week or so (when the drugs wear off). But in case I'm not able to post for a while ... I hope you all, each and every one of you, have a very Happy Holiday season this year!

I KNOW I replied to this....wonder where it went!

I LOVE the owl pics. I love owls, they made me smile! Did you put a soft focus on the first one? I think it looks awesome! Great job!

Awesome shoot Gigi. Sorry to hear that you will be having surgery. You can always place your camera on a tripod and lug that around.. Smile Hope you recover soon!

I haven't been to the Renn Fest in years, DH isn't a big fan and it's about 90 minutes away from here.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Surgery is in 4 hours. I'm thirsty (haven't been able to have anything since midnight last night).

Sadie ... I used the Pioneer Woman's action called "lovely & etherial" on that first picture.

We had a BLAST at the Ren Fest. It runs from October to November every year. We used to make a point of going opening weekend every year, but that interferes with soccer now, so it had to stop. Priorities, ya know. Wink They just recently started (last year, I think) opening on the Friday after Thanksgiving and the timing on that is just PERFECT. So I think we've found a new tradition.

Anyway ... take care everyone. I'll be lurking until I get the go-ahead to come back to the keyboard.
