Santa got me a speedlight for Christmas! He brought it to me early so I can work with it some before Christmas. Wasn't that nice?
We decided to go with the SB700. The 900 would have been nice, but was a little out of our budget right now. I've been playing with it off and on for two days. I can tell that it's going to take time to get used to it. But I can also tell it'll help tremendously when it comes to capturing indoor portraits of the kids.
iTTL is pretty neat. HOWEVER, by the time the pre flashes are complete and the picture is actually taken I have missed the image I wanted to capture. Either the kids have moved out of focus, are distracted by the flash, turned their heads, or have simply just changed expressions.
I'm guessing I'm going to need to figure manual settings out pretty soon. Any suggestions, or good online tutorials I should check out? TIA!
I feel like a complete idiot now... I had red eye turned on. :banghead:
