Steph asked me to post some pics from the shoot yesterday, so here are some. I have a lot more to edit, but these are some of the ones I'm happier with.
I have to say, this shoot was very disconcerting for me. I'm new to all of this, so I'm not sure how I should've handled this, but it was not a good scene for a while. It was prom night and the mom who set this up wasn't there at the start, and no one else introduced me to anyone, then two of the guys seemed very keyed up and hardly listened (one of them is looking at someone else other than me in almost EVERY shot). I did my best to be authoritative and loud with my very scratchy voice from a bad cold, finally got them started in the first spot I picked, and next thing you know, I have three moms with smart phones all beside me asking the guys to "look here for a second". And I had one of the moms with a laundry basket full of props, "Okay, let's do this, what about using these picture frames? Let's get out the fake moustaches." Etcetera.
And if that wasn't bad enough, here's the really disconcerting part: I don't know who this person was, and neither does the friend who asked me to do the shoot, but there was another photographer there. She seemed to know what she was doing, though not a pro (of course, neither am I), but perhaps another friend of one of the other boy's families or something. Anyway, after a few shots, she started giving the guys orders. Not a word to me, and no one else said anything, even though Heather, the person who 'hired' me, had arranged with ALL of the families for ME to do the group shots. But seriously, after a while, I just had to stand back because she just literally took over. So weird. Heather would've said something, had she been there, but she wasn't there until later. Finally when I'd gotten a few good group shots, I just went to the boy whose family asked me to do the shoot, and took him aside on his own for some individual shots. Then his mom arrived with his GF and we were able to work with just the four of them while the other photographer, whoever she was, did her thing elsewhere. Just seriously crazy. Anyway. Here's some preliminary edits. I have many more to do yet! I may add a few more later if there are some I need some CC help with. I would value any CC you can give on these!
4. REALLY regretting his right hand position here, because otherwise I really like this.
5. Not the classic Corvette, but Brad's car is his pride and joy. I have a pull-back with the whole car, haven't edited it yet.
