I love that I get to do this!! This is not an anniversary post per se, but more of a personal tooting of my horn of how far (i think) I've come in my photography journey. Yesturday was the first day all week where it hasn't rained so me and a friend went out after work down town and took some pics. We didn't go to exactly the same areas as we did last year, but it's the same subject, same photographer. The first set were shot about a year of owning my xTi and with my sigma zoom lens, I worked my "editing magic" in LR2 and was floored by my awesome results... pfft!!! feel free to laugh too, i am!
NOW.... same girl, a year and some later, shot with a 50D, 50mm 1.8mm, I have some clue about lighting, edited in LR 3 with fine tuning in CS3. I dont have my settings and can post them later this evening if you want them. Everything varied because of the ever chaning location and light. But feel free to CC if you'd like
1. I was metering and asked her to look up...first shot of the session:
and just sharing one from a family session on the weekend...2 y.o. twin girls. We asked them to hold hands and they just started walking...so sweet...
Yep, you should be proud of yourself! GREAT shots! I am amazed! WTG! Love the first shot of the session.

last year's shots were nice, but DANG, this year's shots look AMAZING! I love how clean your b&w processing has become. It's so common to lose things in the conversion, but your edit is every bit as clear as the color. BRAV-O!
Just THINK what your shots will look like next year!
Great work! I LOVE LOVE that fall one, although her face is right in the middle of the pic (as opposed to the thirds). These are all beautiful!

WOW, what a huge improvement! And like GiGi said, last year shots were great, but this years are so much better!
I LOVE the pic of the 2 yo twins! But then I'm partial to girl twins! It actually reminds me of my girls how the one is noticably taller.
The new shots are gorgeous! I love the colors, the reflections, etc., etc. I also suggest off-centering your model a bit in the leaf picture, but the bokeh is lovely!

I find all those pictures great, definitely did see a lot of improvement.

beautiful! and your first shot, no less. just love her eyes! and your conversion is really nice. I'm not loving the crop on the second, I feel like it should be a landscape crop.
love the twins, adorable!
