So we had a lot of fun at the shoot this morning. I wanted to share some of my favorites. She really likes b&w's so I did conversions on pretty much all of them.

CC always welcome. This was my first nb shoot... and she's actually 5 weeks old now. I used my 35 mm 1:1.8 prime lens. I don't have time right now to look up the settings for all of them. But if there are any you would like to know the settings for, I'll look them up.

8. The crop isn't the best. But it's as good as it was going to get. She was laying on the blue fabric, but had finally really fallen asleep good, so we didn't want to move her. So we just draped the fabric around her. Hence, I had to come in this close so as not to get the blue behind her.

10. I wish the fabric hadn't have been covering her big toe. Sad

Adorable pictures really difficult to choose a favourite, since they are all great.

A tiny bit of CC.
#1 & 2 her arms seem a little purple.

The conversions are done well, and this is purely personal but i'd like to see a little more contrast in most of your B&W conversions.

Love the facial expression in #6/7! Looks like a little hint of a smile. So sweet!

Great work, Danielle! You got some really lovely shots!

I really like #1 the best. It's just precious! The conversion on that is really nice too.

#5 is a cute idea, but with two props, it seems to detract a bit from babe.

The little smile in #6-7 is soooo adorable! The sheen of the fabric distracts me a bit, but the shot is just adorable!

#8 is so sweet! Love the light hands and the hat.

Thanks I didn't notice the purple tint. I was too busy looking at her adorable face. Wink I did a bit of playing around with the adjustment brush, and think I did pretty well with it. I need to see if I can find some tutorials to see if I can improve on it.

I'm still working on figuring out conversions. I was very pleased with how well I did. But there were some I wanted to increase the contrast on. When I tried, I just couldn't find the happy point were the dark colors still showed detail. Grrr. I'm going to post a few more in a bit... I think I did a little better on them. ??

Thanks! Smile

I considered that both props might be too much, too. She had gotten the idea offline and it was an important one for her and her family. Originally they were going to have the hat and the championship ball. Then they had the opportunity to possibly have the ball signed, so it wasn't there. We used the monkey instead. While it might be busy for some, she thinks it's perfect. That's what counts. Smile But one of the next ones I'm going to post is just her and the hat. She likes to sleep with one eye sort of open. For all of the ones with just the hat it was either the open eye, or her with her paci, because she was so sleepy.

I should have realized the effect the sheen of the fabric would have.... It was the color that we wanted, and that's as far as I thought. For me the b&w ones on that background look better because of it. I'm going to post a few that I did in sepia... Do you think that helps any?

13. This one became one of my favorites after editing. I had way underexposed it. I LOVE what I can do with RAW-- just saying. Wink

Not able to CC them all, but the main thing I see wrong with these is how you posed her. PLEASE understand that I just did a newborn shoot and struggled with it big time. I don't see how they make it to were you can always see their faces. In yours (and mine) their faces are covered up quite a bit by the blanket; like they are smushed. My favorites are 13 & 6. I don't really like the conversions with the blue blanket, b/c I think that blanket/fabric looks great! You did a really great job though, and I mean that. These are way better than my last photo shoot with newborns!

I think you have a lot of good CC on these. Biggest thing that I notice is like what Sadie pointed out. Her cute little face is covered up too much. You're going to want to tuck one of those hands under her head to bring it up off the blanket, and so it doesn't cover her face.
